Net Worth Update – MARCH 2019 - $38,389 (+$3,553)

Net Worth Update – MARCH 2019 - $38,389 (+$3,553)

Here are my March numbers.

Checking Account
Emergency Fund
TD Ameritrade Account
Total Assets

Bank Visa
Total Liabilities
Net Worth

Checking Account:  This account, for the most part will remain around $500, after everything hits.

Emergency Fund:  +$2,442  Almost normal additions and a little tax return that I did not expect.  I try to break even at tax time, but somehow got a little back.  I also moved most of my savings to a high-yield savings account with Live Oak Bank out of Wilmington, NC.  At the time, their savings account rate was 2.20%, but they have recently bumped that to 2.30%.  The remainder is in a new to me bank, Navy Federal Credit Union, with a savings rate of .25%, which is way better than the crappy .01% I was getting at BB&T.  I’m clearly not using my savings to make money, but it’s nice to see it grow ever so slightly, rather that the pathetic friggin penny BB&T was adding to my savings account every month.

TD Ameritrade Account:  +$31  Sweet, a little growth!!!

Vanguard:  +$80 – I finally moved my old Simple IRA to Vanguard.  I did have this money sitting at T. Rowe Price, but they started threatening monthly maintenance fees, PLUS, their regular fees were way higher than Vanguard.

401(k):  +$714 – Normal additions with match plus slight growth.

Cars:  Nothing new here

Bank Visa:   -$286 – My daughter had a conference in NYC that she needed help with and some of the conference will be reimbursed, about $600.  The other was a “loan” to my ex to help out with my daughter’s tuition.  My ex paid back what she owed me, I used the card for a couple online purchases, and I’m still waiting for the reimbursement from my daughter’s school before I pay this off.

Overall  +$3,553 – A stronger than normal month!!!

Net Worth Update – APRIL 2019 - $40,623 (+$2,234)
